MIMI BARKS

BANSHEE

For Banshee by Mimi Barks, I created two transformative character looks inspired by myth, horror, and dark fantasy.

The first look reimagines Eve within a haunting Garden of Eden. Ethereal yet corrupted. Smoky eyes and iridescent lips create an otherworldly beauty, whilst stark white lashes and collodion scarring distort the softness into something uncanny, as though paradise itself has begun to decay.

The second transformation became the heart of the project: a fully realised Banshee creature inspired by Celtic folklore and ghost stories whispered through the Scottish Highlands. Shot within an abandoned mansion in Scotland, the character was designed to feel ancient, mournful, and supernatural. A spirit lurking between glamour and nightmare. Intricate extended fingers, handcrafted over hours of sculpting and application, transformed the silhouette into something inhuman and predatory, elevating every movement into a haunting performance.

Together, the looks explore themes of temptation, grief, femininity, and monstrosity, blurring the line between beauty and fear in a cinematic world where myth comes alive.
